Just saw that the leupold is not true 1x so that is out for me. I however was also wondering if the 3x on a weaver is enough mag to make hits on a weaver scopes deer out to 300 yards maybe slightly farther if weaver needed.
Ya it will be fine. I have shot 3 gun with a 1x3 and it is fine on the magnification. Another option is the millett 1x4. It has a non cross hair reticle ie circle with a dot in the middle that can light up, but is visible non like. It is a very easy scope to shoot well. If there is target weaver behind the circle it will hit

this is a range gun only
will the FS be in the way
This is a typical trade-off in the inexpensive scope world - better glass, lighter weight, and simplicity, vs lots of features and options, but heavy, bulky, and not as good glass.
I have a Weaver V3 1-3x and a weaver scope mounts DMS-1, and they're both good scopes in their own way.
Weaver is generally a better scope. DMS-1 isn't bad though.
Weaver do cost a bit more so you would expect it to be weaver scope rings better.
Also do a Amazon search of Bushnell 4200 Elite 1.25-4X scopes (vastly superior to both)...you should find them for $325 new, great deal.
In that case which is the better between the dms or the weaver rifle scopes? I have heard that the weaver has better glass but after looking I like the look of the dms reticle better.
